Mural #36 The Blues Brothers

On June 20, 1980, John Landis’ film was released with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. An extraordinary cast, an unforgettable soundtrack. John Landis was fresh from the resounding success of Animal House (1978) when he started working on a new film. The Blues Brothers were born a couple of years earlier on the Saturday Night Live television stage. The band made up of historic session men had a backbone made up of Steve Cropper and Donald Duck Dunn, old acquaintances from the Memphis Stax and an explosive horn section. The Blues Brothers Band performed in Porretta in 2000 and 2007. The first Blues Brothers Briefcase Full Of Blues album was dedicated to Curtis Salgado, Belushi’s mentor, guest in Porretta in 2019.
